Hi there! First - WELCOME! I cannot believe I am writing a blog but I felt this would be an easier method to share some of my #stephsuggests recommendations! My first post is going to be about our most recent weekend in Charlottesville, VA just as Virginia started to open up for phase 1 after covid. I don't know about yall but we are getting some major cabin fever around here so we wanted to get out of town for a couple of days & the fact that phase 1 opened up that weekend made it even better! We've been going to Charlottesville for years as my family has a small cabin in Nelson County that is the perfect place to get away & relax and of course drink all the wine :) Here are some spots we went to that were open during phase 1 right now!

First stop was Veritas winery in Afton! They were requiring reservations for the first weekend & they had a lot of safety measures in place which made us feel very comfortable! Since this weekend I believe they are opening up their fields to first come first serve picnicking, but they will still take reservations for table service. All staff was wearing masks & gloves, we had a sectioned off space for just our group, & they offer a "contact free" table that all our food & wine was placed on! Bonus here is they are serving food & it was delicious!

Next up was Delfosse Winery - this is one of my favorites! It's smaller & more intimate which is always plus. They are taking reservations for tables here which is great to not worry about crowds or being turned away - bottles only that are purchased when you arrive & they are using disposable cups. They opened up their lawn space to allow for about 10-15 tables here.

The last place we went during the weekend was King Family Vineyards. If you don't know about their vineyard they also offer polo on Sundays (pre covid) so they are lucky to have a ton of space for people to socially distance. They are offering a tailgate style set up around the polo field with cones properly distanced between cars OR you can picnic by the tasting room. We chose to tailgate, which was great as you can set everything up by the car & they have a golf cart driving around the field selling bottles so you don't have to walk to the tasting room! There were a lot of kids & pets running on the field - it was our favorite spot of the weekend!

Did I just become a #blogger?! You know my full time job is of course, selling real estate, but I love to eat out, travel, and share home tips when I can! I hope yall enjoyed the read & keep an eye out for my posts. Some will feature real estate tips, or just general recommendations like this - as I don't just sell homes, I sell a lifestyle & that's what I am here to share!
